This delicious Japanese tuna mayo Onigiri recipe is easy to prepare and requires very little effort. Onigiri is a popular Japanese food made by stuffing rice balls with a variety of different fillings then wrapping them in nori seaweed.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 2 tablespoon feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 350 gr of tuna (canned)
  • 50 gr of cheese
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or (Japanese Mayonnaise)
  • 1 nori seaweed

How To Make Onigiri With Tuna and Mayo?

  1. First cook the rice in a pot with water until the water evaporates and rice is fully cooked. You can use a rice cooker as well.
  2. While the rice is cooking, we cut the nori seaweed in half.
  3. Combine the tuna, mayo and feta cheese, and mix togther.
  4. Shape small balls with the rice and stretch them over our hand.
  5. Fill the center with the tuna filling and close the into a ball shape. Add more rice to seal the ball if needed.
  6. Then finally shape it into a trangle and wrap the Onigiri with seaweed.
  7. Enjoy!
