Traditional American Meatloaf Recipe With  Breadcrumbs (Ketchup and Brown Sugar)

What is better than a classic tender juicy American meatloaf full of flavors and dripping sauce? Nothing right? Our easy to prepare meatloaf recipe is just that. Try our American traditional meatloaf recipe with breadcrumbs and with a sweet Ketchup and brown sugar sauce.

INGREDIENTS FOR AMERICAN TRADITIONAL MEATLOAF WITH BREADCRUMBS:

  • 2 lbs medium ground beef 90% (900 grams)
  • 2 large whole eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1.2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves smashed
  • 4 tablespoons cilantro or parsley
  • 1 medium red onion chopped finely
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup oat milk or milk
  • 1 ½ tsp salt or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • pinch of numeg

INGREDIENTS FOR THE TRADITIONAL MEATLOAF SAUCE:

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 plum tomatoes diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt

INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO MAKE MEATLOAF:

  1. Prepare a loaf pan and line with parchment paper covering all the sides.
  2. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  3. Add the ingredients for the meatloaf in a large bowl.
  4. Mix together to combine using a spatula.
  5. Once the meat is combined, add it into the loaf pan.
  6. Place the loaf pan into the oven and bake for about 45 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, add the ingredients for the sauce into a medium-size bowl and mix together until well incorporated.
  8. After 45 minutes, add the sauce mixture to the top of the meatloaf and put back into oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove from the oven and cool for about 10 minutes before slicing it.
  10. Pour remainder sauce from the loaf pan onto the meatloaf slices.
  11. Serve with mash potatoes and choice of cooked vegetables.
